The City of Marion Citizen of the Year Awards recognises individuals, organisations and event organisers who make a positive contribution to our community.

We would like to congratulate the following winners for 2025:

Citizen of the Year Awards

The City of Marion Citizen of the Year Awards recognises Marion’s community achievers.

Do you know someone making a real difference in our community? Nominate them for an award today.

The awards pay tribute to individuals and organisations that have made a significant contribution to our community.

They also recognise contributions made over a number of years. Areas of service can include education, health, fundraising, charitable and voluntary services, business, sport, arts and the environment.

Winners of each category will be announced at the Citizen of the Year Awards celebration.

All nominees will be invited to attend and will receive a certificate.

Awards are presented in the categories of:

Citizen of the Year

This is presented to someone making an extraordinary contribution to the community and may recognise outstanding service over a number of years. To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen.

Young Citizen of the Year

This is presented to a young emerging leader who is making a difference in their community.

To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen aged over 16 years and under 30 years of age on January 26, 2026.

Community Event of the Year

This is presented to a person or group who has staged the most outstanding event for their community.

To be eligible, the person or group must be Australian Citizens.

Sportsperson / Team of the Year

This is presented to the person / team that has made the most outstanding contribution to sport in the past year.
