Tree of the Month

Nominate a tree in the City of Marion (on public or private land) that you absolutely love!

Please ensure that you obtain the homeowner's permission before nominating a tree located on private property.

Trees play a vital role in our environment, providing oxygen, shade, and beauty, enhancing our communities.

The Tree of the Month will be honoured with a beautiful wooden sign. Plus, you'll receive a featured photo with you and your tree on our website!

July - Tree of the Month

Brachychiton acerifolius x populneus ‘Bella Pink’ 

This stunning tree has survived the drought and stands resilient at Oaklands Wetlands.

Thank you, Jane for nominating this tree. Jane says that this tree is a beautiful green greeting as she arrives at Oaklands Wetlands for her regular walks. She also loves the beautiful clusters of bell-shaped flowers which attract bees in the springtime.

Jane is a dedicated environmental activist and stands up for the trees across many campaigns. We love her passion and enthusiasm for protecting our precious environment.

May - Tree of the Month

May’s Tree of the Month is a beautiful River Red Gum, chosen by the Friends of Warriparinga group. They said:

"For hundreds of years, it has stood on the banks of Warripari (the Sturt River) at Warriparinga, watching over this special Kauna place, the early European settlers crossing the ford just upstream and now walkers enjoying this special piece of remnant green in the heart of suburbia. It has survived the developer’s bulldozer, and now its ancient and gnarled hollows provide home to myriad creatures."
