The City of Marion values creativity and artistic expression in community life and is committed to providing support and opportunities for individual artists and arts organisations to be involved in projects, events, festivals, community celebrations, and art in public places. Following are some regular opportunities:
This subsidy scheme acknowledges the role that artists and local venues play in the cultural life of the City of Marion. Subsidies of $145 to assist individuals and $320 to assist groups with the cost of registering for the SALA Festival are available.
Limited rebates are available. Be quick - first in best dressed.
Artists who do not reside within the City of Marion but are holding an exhibition in the council area for SALA are also eligible to claim the rebate.
SALA registrations for the August 2025 Festival will open 1 March 2025 and close 14 May 2024. Keep an eye out if you intend to participate.
Eligible artists should pay their registration as normal to the SALA office, print and fill in the attached form below, and email completed form with supporting documentation.

The Community Grants program and the Youth Grants program assist local non-profit community groups and organisations to establish and undertake innovative projects or activities that are of benefit to the community.
