Congratulations to The Cove FC!

The City of Marion congratulates The Cove Football Club for winning Football South Australia's State League 2 Grand Final in a thrilling match against Modbury Vista.

The Cove FC won the match 3-1 after scoring two early goals and never looking back in the contest.

The win secures the club promotion into the State League 1 division which is the second highest grade in South Australian semi-professional football.

It is the first time since 2018 that the club will compete in this division.

The win comes just two years on from when Marion Council officially opened the $7 million Southern Soccer Facility, which was upgraded to meet the growing demand for soccer pitches in the south.

The upgrades were expected to significantly increase the competitive capacity of the Cove Football Club which grew from having a single pitch to 4.

Their new facility also boasts a new clubroom and plenty of car parking.
