New playground opens at Trowbridge Reserve

A reserve in Mitchell Park has a brand new playground following upgrade by the City of Marion to meet changing community needs in the area.

The City of Marion officially opened Trowbridge Reserve on Saturday.

The site was identified for upgrade in late 2022 and work since been undertaken to replace the aging playground and install a range of new features.

The new playground is suitable for a range of ages and will encourage children to explore, play and enjoy nature.

This project was fully funded by Marion Council.

Key design elements include:

• A new multi-station with stairs, slide, fireman's pole, climbing net and climbing wall
• Standard swing with toddler seat
• Junior rocker
• Trampoline
• New 3 on 3 asphalt basketball and netball court
• New irrigation system
• New seating
• Drink fountain
• Soccer goals

We have also replaced two existing footbridges and pathways throughout the site.
