Cove 10th Birthday Prehistoric Scavenger Hunt

1. Competition Period:

  • The competition begins Thursday 31 July 2025 at 9:30 am ACST and concludes on Sunday 3 August 2025 at 4 pm ACST.

2. Eligibility:

  • All entrants must be a member of any public library in South Australia.
  • Entries must include your library membership number. If you are not a library member, see a staff member to sign up for a free membership.
  • City of Marion staff and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
  • Each participant is permitted one entry.

3. How to Enter:

  • Collect an entry form from Cove Civic Centre staff.
  • Ten letters have been hidden within prehistoric clues around the Cove Civic Centre. Find all the letters and unscramble them to reveal the secret word.
  • Complete your entry form with the correct secret word and drop it into the competition entry box to go in the draw to win one of two LEGO prizes.

4. Prizes:

  • The prizes are two LEGO Jurassic World kits.
  • Each winner may select one kit.
  • Prize is not redeemable for cash.

5. Winner Selection and Notification:

  • Winners will be drawn at random by City of Marion staff and contacted on Monday 24 August 2025.
  • The first drawn winner to have correctly identified the secret word will have their choice between two (2) LEGO prizes.
  • The second drawn winner to have correctly identified the secret word will receive the remaining LEGO prize.

6. Prize Claiming:

  • The prize can be collected from any City of Marion Library branch. This includes Cove Civic Centre, Marion Cultural Centre Library and Park Holme Library.

7. General Conditions:

Coastal Walkway Booklet - Marion Outdoor Pool family pass competition

1. Competition Period:

  • The competition commences on Saturday 3 August 2024 at 12:01 am ACST and concludes on Saturday 31 August 2024 at 11:59 pm ACST.

2. Eligibility:

  • Participants must be residents of Australia.
  • Employees of the City of Marion and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
  • Must submit during the competition period.

3. How to Enter:

  • Participants must enter answers from the Coastal Walkway Bridges opening activity book via the QR code provided.
  • Each participant is permitted one entry.

4. Prize:

  • The prize is one (1) Marion Outdoor Pool family pass and one (1) Marion Outdoor Pool 10-pass slide voucher to the value of $33.70.
  • Prizes are not redeemable for cash.

5. Winner Selection and Notification:

  • The winner will be randomly selected by City of Marion staff on Monday 2 September 2024 at 11 am ACST at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt.
  • The winner will be notified via the phone number and/or email address provided in the entry by 2 pm ACST on the same day.
  • If the winner does not respond by 5 pm ACST on 6 September 2024 the prize will be forfeited, and a new winner will be selected by the same process.

6. Prize Claiming:

  • To claim the prize, the winner must provide proof of residency.
  • The prize can be collected from the City of Marion Administration Building located at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt.

7. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

  • The City of Marion reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who is found to have violated these Terms and Conditions.
  • The City of Marion reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the competition if necessary.
  • The City of Marion’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Just Write Competition

The competition begins at 9 am on Monday 16 December 2024 (ACDT) and concludes at 11:59 pm on Monday 13 January 2025 (ACDT).

Entrants must submit an original story with a word count of 300–750 words (for contestants 8–10 years) and 500–1000 words (for contestants 11–13 years).

Entries must be in English.

One entry per child.

The author’s name must not appear on the story or in the title. Please save the file as the title of the story.

Entries must be in a Microsoft Word document (.doc/.docx), size 12 font, double spaced, single sided.

Entrants shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.

The first place prize for each age category has a value up to $200

The second place prize for each age category has a value up to $100

Prize is not redeemable for cash.

Entries will be judged, and winners selected by Marion Libraries staff.

The winners will be contacted at the conclusion of the judging process.

Prizes will be awarded at the summer reading party on January 23, if you cannot attend staff will make other arrangements to get the prize to you.

The decision in relation to any aspect of this competition is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

City of Marion staff and their immediate family are not eligible to enter.

Summer Reading Club Competiton

The competition begins 16 December 2024 at 9:30 am ACDT and concludes on Monday, 20 January 2025 at 9 am.

Entries must include a completed reading record and favourite book review in 50 words or less.

Entries must be submitted via the online form.

One entry per child

There will be 2 winners for each branch: Cove Civic Centre, Park Holme Library and Cultural Centre

Each prize pack will be to the value of $50

Each entry must nominate one Marion libraries branch

The winners will be selected randomly but require that the entry has a completed reading record and a favourite book review of 50 words or less

Winners will be drawn and contacted on Tuesday 21 January 2025. Prizes will be awarded at the summer reading party on January 23, if you cannot attend staff will make other arrangements to get the prize to you.

Prize is not redeemable for cash.

Coastal Walkway Bridges Snap and Win competition

1. Competition Period:

  • The competition commences on Saturday 3 August 2024 at 12:01 am ACST and concludes on Saturday 31 August 2024 at 11:59 pm ACST.

2. Eligibility:

  • Entry is open to individuals aged 18 years or older.
  • Participants must be residents of Australia.
  • Employees of the City of Marion and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
  • Must use the hashtag #CoastalWalkwayBridges and handle @CityofMarion.
  • Must submit during the competition period.
  • Must give permissions for the City of Marion to obtain the user generated content.

3. How to Enter:

  • Participants must follow the City of Marion on either Instagram or Facebook.
  • Participants must post a photo to their Instagram or Facebook account taken at the Coastal Walkway Bridges and include the hashtag #CoastalWalkwayBridges and handle @CityofMarion in their post.
  • Each participant is permitted one entry per platform (Instagram and Facebook).

4. Prize:

  • The prize is one (1) Apple AirPods (3rd Generation) valued at AUD $289.00.
  • The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

5. Winner Selection and Notification:

  • The winner will be selected by City of Marion staff on Monday 2 September 2024 at 11 am ACST at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt.
  • The winner will be notified via direct message on the platform through which they entered by 2 PM ACST on the same day.
  • If the winner does not respond by 5 pm ACST on 6 September 2024, or if the winner is ineligible, the prize will be forfeited, and a new winner will be selected by the same process.

6. Prize Claiming:

  • To claim the prize, the winner must provide proof of residency.
  • The prize can be collected from the City of Marion Administration Building located at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt.

7. Use of Entries:

  • By entering the competition, participants grant the City of Marion the right to use, reproduce, and publish their submitted photos for promotional and marketing purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, use on the City of Marion’s website, social media channels, the City Limits Magazine and other promotional materials.
  • Participants retain ownership of their submitted photos.
  • Participants warrant that they own the copyright in the submitted photos and that the photos do not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • Should an image be used for future use or application, the owner of that image will be tagged and / or mentioned (credited).

8. General Conditions:

  • By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Park Holme Library Book Trail competition

The competition begins July 2024 at 9:30 am ACDT and concludes on Monday 22 July 2024 at 5 pm.

Nine letter clues will be in hidden around the Park Holme Library. Find all the letters and unscramble them to reveal the secret word. Complete your entry form with the correct secret word and drop it into the competition entry box to go in the draw to win one of two LEGO prizes.

City Limits Oct/Nov x Marion Outdoor Pool competition
  • Entrants will need to answer the question 'what is your ideal day at Marion Outdoor Pool look like?', to go into the draw to win. They can submit their entry by scanning the QR code in the magazine and filling out the form here.
  • One entry is permitted per person, and each entry will have equal chance at winning the prize.
  • Entrants shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
  • The competition begins at 9 am Tuesday 1 October 2024 (ACDT) and concludes at 4 pm on Thursday 31 October 2024 (ACDT).
  • The prize pool consists of 1 family pass to Marion Outdoor Pool to be won.
  • One winner will be selected, and the winner will receive one family pass to Marion Outdoor Pool.
  • Prize is not redeemable for cash.
  • The winner will be selected at random by City of Marion staff, and will take place at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt.
  • The winner will be notified via email at the time of the competition being drawn.
  • If a winner does not respond by 5 pm the following business day, or is unable to accept the prize, another winner will be drawn from those who entered. The prize will be redrawn.
  • To claim the prize the winner will have the option to collect the family pass from the Administration Centre located at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt. The winner will need to present identification to claim the prize in person.
  • Alternatively, the winner may opt to provide a postal address and have the pass mailed via regular post.

From Wonka to Witches: Golden Ticket competition
  • The competition begins Saturday 13 April 2024 at 10 am ACDT and concludes once all three tickets have been claimed.
  • One Golden Ticket will be in hidden in a Marion library book at each Marion Library branch of Park Holme, Marion Cultural Centre and Cove Civic Centre.
  • To claim your prize please present the Golden Ticket along with the book you found it into a library staff member.
  • The three (3) winners will receive one (1) double pass to From Wonka to Witches: A Dahl-icious Adventure taking place at Cove Civic Centre on Saturday 4 May 2024 at 2 pm. Only one double pass per child allowed.
  • If not all tickets have been claimed by 4 pm ACDT on Sunday 28 April 2024, any unclaimed tickets will become null and void.
  • Parents do not require a ticket and will receive nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine. Please ensure a maximum of one adult per child in attendance and supervise children at all times.
  • Winners of the Golden Ticket and their guest must be between the ages of 5 and 12 as of 4 May 2024.
  • Permission will be sought from the parent/guardian of each Golden Ticket winner to have their image used for Marion Libraries social media promotions.
