Introducing the Marion Cultural Centre, your go-to events hub in the heart of the inner south, designed to appeal to both local businesses and communities alike. With spaces for every vibe, like a chill café, a happening gallery, and a welcoming library, it isn't just an artsy spot. Marion Cultural Centre goes beyond being an arts and culture hub. It's the heart of our community, designed with YOU in mind.
Domain Theatre is an intimate performance space with unobstructed viewing for everyone in the audience. Its flexibility makes it ideal for all types of performance including theatre, cabaret, comedy and dance. The Domain Theatre can also transform into a stunning venue for larger seminars, workshops, presentations, training sessions and expos. It is extremely versatile, enabling seating arrangements to be tailored to your needs. Maximum capacity is 280 (including audience, performers and staff).
Sturt Room is ideal for medium sized workshops, training sessions, presentations and seminars. It also acts as an auxiliary room with doors opening direct to the Domain Theatre. Equipped with essential amenities such as Internet access, a whiteboard, and a large digital (TV) display, it's also perfect for breakout sessions and interactive activities. The Sturt Room provides ample space for various setups, including boardroom style for 16 people, workshop style for 24 people, U-shape for 12 people, or seminar configuration for the full capacity of 50 people.
The Foyer is a flexible, split-level, open space and the hub of the centre’s three other functional zones with links to the outside plaza space. It can operate as a main lobby/reception area, function/expo area, catering area with partial/full exposure to the plaza or performance area with the steps providing an informal amphitheatre.
The Plaza is now open as of September 2024. The Marion Cultural Centre Plaza has been transformed into the heart of our city, bringing people together for events and casual catch ups in a revitalised city hub. The Plaza can accommodate to both small, medium and large events, making the most of the stage area and open-space grass. Learn more about the upgrade: https://www.makingmarion.com.au/mcc-plaza
