A community barbecue will commence at 6 pm, followed by the official ceremony at 7 pm.

The vigil will see young people from service organisations, including St. John Marion Youth, Mawson District Scouts, West Met Region Girl Guides and the Australian Air Force Cadets 609 Squadron pay tribute to those who have fought for their country by standing guard in shifts leading up to the ANZAC Day Dawn Service the following morning.

The ceremony will include an address from the Australian Defence Force, the laying of tokens of remembrance and the playing of the Last Post.

The vigil is an important event in preserving the legacy of the ANZACs for current and future generations.

Location

Marion RSL, 31-39 Norfolk Road Marion. Parking is available off Norfolk Road.
