Aldridge Avenue Reserve in Plympton Park is a neighbourhood playground that was upgraded in December 2013 with shade sails added in June 2018.
The playground features a bright multi-station with spiral slide with a bead panel and imagination play shop/cafe below.
To the side there is a spider climbing net and pommel course.
There’s also a twin-springer, a baby swing and standard swing.
Further reserve improvements were completed in 2024 and was jointly funded by the City of Marion and the State Government (Department for Infrastructure and Transport).
The additional improvements included:
Bring all your sports balls to this reserve as there’s plenty to do!
Basketball tower for the future 36ers and a netball ring for those who aspire to play for the Thunderbirds.
Aim for the Australian Open and bring your tennis racquets.
A grassy kick about area has plenty of space to kick a footy or soccer ball.
There’s a compact gravel path circling the courts which is perfect for learning BMX or trail riding with a more challenging roller bridge for children to navigate over.
A sheltered picnic table next to two BBQs and a drinking fountain make this a great reserve to spend some time in.
Bench seating is scattered through the reserve, close to the playground and also on the other side of the courts.
A dog bag station and dog bowl on the drinking fountain means your pooch is also looked after.
Although there are no toilets at this reserve there are some a short walk away (10min) at Plympton Oval.
